Due to the weather, we will now be going to the Mall of America on Saturday as well, as originally planned. Sorry gals, Uptown another time!

Also, the time has been bumped up to 1:00 PM. If you can't make it then, don't worry! We will still be meeting in the Rotunda at 3:00 PM for any stragglers!

Hi everyone!

Anime Detour was a blast! Thanks to everyone that showed up, it was a lot of fun getting to know all of you. But now that the con is behind us it's time to look forward to the gal event of the spring:

Just another quick update on an event: Anime Detour 2011

Registration is pretty close to being full, so sign up while you can. Also, Bulaklak Tribe is unfortunately NOT hosting a panel at this convention. We while however be volunteering at the TOMODACHI & Friends room, so you can find us there.

We have a hotel room as well, for anyone that needs it. Please inform us via the blog or FB if you need a place to crash for the con. Price will be split depending on amount of people in the room. Plan on floorspace.

Mini Apple Mini Soda: Update

Hello everyone!

Here's an update for the Spring Bulaklak Tribe Midwest Gal Meetup.

When: May 20-21, 2011
Where: Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
Who: Midwest Gals!
What: 2 Days of shopping and partying, getting to know your fellow Midwest Gals, and just having fun!


Minneapolis and the Mississippi River

Join Bulaklak Tribe and other Midwest gals as we take Minneapolis by storm!

Have fun on Friday going to super cute and unique vintage shops and boutiques, and sightseeing around Downtown, Uptown, and Northeast Minneapolis. Get a taste of fun local cafes and restaurants while meeting up with gyaru from all over the Midwest. You don't have to necessarily hang out with the group on Friday, have fun and explore!

Iconic Uptown Theatre

At night meet up with BT and go club hopping at all the hottest places. If you're not 21, don't worry there are plenty of 18+ places to go.

AQUA Nightclub

On Saturday you can come and enjoy the famous Mall of America!
Shop at 500+ stores such as Forever 21, H&M, and many others!
But don't forget to wear you nautical themed coordinate that day, as we go through Underwater Adventures. Be sure to set aside some cash, it's about 18 USD to get in, but worth it. You get to pet sharks.


Best Buy Rotunda at Mall of America

As for a restaurant on Saturday, the current plan is either the Hard Rock Cafe or Ichiban, a traditional Japanese Steakhouse. Saturday night get ready to party hard at the infamous First Avenue, for Too Much Love.

As for Sunday, feel free to leave or chill out with a fun spa/relaxation day. Get your nails done, grab some sandwiches and head over to the Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center. Relax and enjoy the weather, because May = The Best month in MN. Hang out with your gal friends and nurse your hangovers in the fresh air.

Transportation will be limited. Plan on taking some buses and/or the light-rail. Most things downtown are within walking distance, as are things in uptown. But you'll need to take the bus to get there, because hotels downtown are HELLA expensive.

Recommended Hotels:

Doubletree Hotel Minneapolis - Park Place

Sheraton Bloomington Hotel

Ramada MOA

We STRONGLY suggest booking a hotel by the MOA because they offer free shuttles to and from the MOA, then you can take the light-rail downtown.

Hi everyone! Miri here with an update about upcoming events for 2011. So far we've got 2 big ones planned, and a variety of smaller local events in the works.

First up: Anime detour! BT Takeover!

Come hang out with BT at one of the midwest's largest anime conventions, Anime Detour! Since 2004 it's been a staple in any Japanese culture enthusiast's social life. Go to J-fashion panels, rock your gal style, and party until the AM with us in April. We're taking over this year, and hope you be there with us!

I actually modified this shirt the shirt is from Heritage 1981 but I just cut a skull pattern in the back and had my friend stitch it a bit for extra detail.

Despite being active members of BT we seem to be the least contributive to the blog, hah. For the sake of posterity here's a post from the two of us... just purikura and whatnot. If you'd like to check up on us at all, I (Ashley) occasionally make posts to the Everyday Gyaru Livejournal community here and there, Shiena updates her Facebook albums often, and the two of us actively compile our ridiculous adventures with the people we encounter here in Tokyo on Youtube.

I miss my long Wolf-Mane Hair style but I was playing around with my hair and I figured out a cool way to style it that is reminiscent of the longer wolf-mane style!

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa~ Its August already! :|

My hair is already back to blonde... The light brown hair wasn't "me", so I changed it back. This time a darker shade of blonde, and I think I am satisfied with it.

I've already also bought new extensions in this shade, so hopefully I won't do anything more stupid with my hair!

Do you see my new awesome top? I know sculls was in LAAAAST year, but I couldn't resist. BLINGBLINGBLING!

My current everyday eyemake:

Oh, I almost forgot. I did buy a new bronzer! From Chanel! This is the best thing I've ever spent 500 NOK on. Four different shades, not with too much shimmer in it either!

Hmm, I was supposed to show you many outfits this time, but when I look at the photos, I can't find many I am REALLY proud of, so I won't show you more than these:

I hope you guys did get a fabulous tan this summer! Unfortunately, I didn't get that tan I was aiming for, but at least I did get SOME tan!

Summer in Norway!

I have to admit something. I barely use makeup in summerdays because I always work on my tan, BUT I kind of like it. The feeling of no makeup on my face OMG, LOL. I use to wear biiiig shades anyways, so nobody notice. Besides, tanning with foundation will give "spots" anyways.

I don't need to use any SPF, because I never get sunburned. My parents genes haha! Kind of lucky! Some people recommend tanning oils to get faster tan tho, but I also heard that it fries the skin... I just use a good regulary body lotion LOL. Playing volleyball or something makes the time fly, so before I even notice - I already have a tan line!

This summer I want to have light colored lips, so I use a lip balm with SPF! Easier to achive the "nude/pink-look", I hope. Did you know that lip balm with SPF even exist? :||| I didn't know until about a half year ago, so last summer so my lips was so dark! :D I've already tried a lot of different lip balms, but the one I like best is from TIFFA (Kanebo). Too bad it isn't cruelty free :( I'm working on finding some even better products, so if you know some - TELL ME :D

Use these nice days to get super tanned! NO EXCUSES! Just be careful LOLLLLL

Have you tried it?

I bought mines some months ago and I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THEM NOW! My hair use to need too many hours before it gets dry, and it is so annoying! I can't style my hair when it is wet, and if I try to blowdry the hair - the hair gets frizzy (you know my hair is bleached~). With this turban I can wash my hair in the morning, wrap it in the turban. While I wait a little, I can do my makeup! After finishing the makeup the hair is almost completely dry and I can start styling it!

I highly recommend it if your hair is like mine! :D

Recent buys: Fake fringe! This is so awesome! I don't know why I haven't bought one of these before... I am the person that too often gets tired of my hair... I am always cutting my fringe, and some days later regreting on it. Now, with this clip-in fringe the problem is solved! I can change the hair in seconds!
LOL more stuff for the hair. BUMPITS! They're waaay harder than it looks in the advertising movies. I guess it could look good and done easy with some training, tho.

A purse from Gina Tricot! I was SO IN LOVE WITH it when I saw it in store, but when I came home and looked at the purse once more... I figured why I loved this so much. It looks TOO much like as the Chanel one LOL. At least it isn't a fake one? Just very inspired :P

Biore strips - your best friend??

copied from my LJ but its useful for beauty, and every gal should be beautiful and sexy~~~~~~~

So yesterday, I tried out Biore nose strips for getting rid of blackheads.

Well, in my case I didnt see it work at all...
but actually I dont really have a lot of blackhead or anything.

Me and Yao Yao. BTW I cut my hair into bangs again....

Looks like getting rhinoplasty done.

The strips turn hard when they are dried, so it kind of feels like a cast lol.

Taking them off is quite painful... I guess it get rid of some of the tiny little hairs on my nose.

For yaoyao, because he actually did have quite a bit blackheads,
it removed most of them!!! quite amazing... but not all of them...
and u have to make sure to keep your nose clean because
your pore is still open afterwards, so easy to clog up again.
Be careful....

price is not worth it unless u can get a discount.
It was like $13 for a pack of 14.

So this is my first post on the Bulaklak Tribe blog! In celebration, I would like to share a fun new discovery with everyone. I got it this fun new product a sample a while ago and really didn't think much it 'till a few weeks later. So, what is it?

Hair cologne! I know it might sound a bit weird but, it's perfume for your hair!

It can be used by gals who love clubbing but hate the smell of cigs and etc that lingers on hair, its also good for everyday use. If you wanna get rid of the hair spray, gel, pomade smell, this works wonders! You never have to worry about if your hair smells a little off because of your surroundings again! Instead just bask in slightly fruity sweet smell of hair cologne.

I like to use it before I go to para events to minimize the smoke smell afterwards! Or at parties.. like the halloween pictured above! Fun Fun Times!

vests are in this fall, and although this one is kinda plain, I think it works well with the outfit.

I was going for that Amerika Kaji look, I know it's supposed to stand for American Casual, like things that we Americans would wear anyway but it's totally different haha.

This con's goal is taking the focus off Anime and presenting a North-American Japanese subculture convention that features Lolita fashion, Host club culture, non-anime aspects of Akihabara, Live rock music, and, of course GYARU LIFE & STYLE!

Recently, I(ヒロ) went to Middle Tennessee Anime Convention and met up with DDR Jenn from Calulu Lovlies! I really encouraged all of the gyaru and lolias to come out to KakkoiCon, because I saw a lot of people who I know would have an even greater time there then at MTAC! I know that when one usually tries to mix geeky functionality with fashion that it's usually a disaster, but I came across these Olinari dog tag-style necklaces (currently on sale for $274) that hides a a hefty 2gb Sony Micro Vault USB drive. Of course, you can get the necklace by itself (for $244), but an extra $30 for a 2gb flash drive? Not too bad.
